Belén Benavent Cortés (1999, Madrid, Spain) is an emerging visual artist whose work delves into social and human realities with profound sensitivity. Her training began at John Henry Newman School, where she pursued an arts-focused baccalaureate under the guidance of prominent artist Antonio López. Graduating with honors in Fine Arts and Design from Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid (2022), Belén stands out for her unique and dedicated approach that transforms her experiences into art.
Among her recent projects, her journey to Cameroon is particularly notable, offering a deep immersion in the culture and vitality of this African country, which has significantly influenced her work. Her series on La Cañada Real, though completed earlier, remains a key reference in her career, reflecting her interest in exploring marginalized communities and complex social landscapes. She approaches the cultures and environments she observes with an attentive eye and a unique sensitivity. Her visual style is marked by expressive color use and composition that, beyond aesthetic value, invites reflection on themes of identity and belonging.
Currently based in Madrid, her work not only conveys what she perceives in her travels and projects but also invites viewers to reflect on their own place in the world, fostering an ongoing dialogue between her art and reality.
